All The Uploaded User Avatars Reverted To Default

    Hello,

    This morning I updated to 3.5.1 – all the User Avatars reverted back to default silhouette. I am not sure if it was related to the 3.5.1 update or not, but we just noticed today that all of the user avatars are default…

    We have a big user base, and this is very unfortunate. I figured I’d post this report to see if anyone else is having the same issue?

    Everything is all right for me.
    Update from 3.5 to 3.5.1 with last version of user avatars.

    I just noticed this morning everything in /wp-content/uploads/avatar got deleted.

    Not entirely sure why, there was 148+ photos uploaded and are now gone.

    I am reuploading a backup from the 15th and spinning up a backup image of the server from yesterday.

    The only crucial network wide thing I did today was Update Network. I am not sure why, but maybe it deleted everything in /wp-content/uploads – since I am running a multisite?

    Edit: I am starting to wonder if during the Network Upgrade, something like wp_upgrade() or update_site_option() attempts to move all of the ./avatar/ files to a multisite directory then deletes what’s in wp-content/uploads/?
