Plugin added slides to blog page

I am currently building a site using Genesis and the eleven40 theme. When I installed this plugin it started showing slides I created for my homepage (using the Anything Slider plugin) as blog posts.

Also, it would be nice to use have a shortcode to display my press releases on any page, like Amazon does here: http://phx.corporate-ir.net/phoenix.zhtml?c=176060&p=irol-news
