WP image editor plugin

Hi I’m looking for a way (whether that’s through a plugin or something) that will let me show a cropped portion of an image on a post on the main index page, and clicking the image will lead to its original dimensions in the story page.

Does that make sense?

The best example I can think of what I’m trying to do is on this blog http://www.dannychoo.com/ and scrolling down to his “Dance Vader” and “Macross” posts.
