The URL for my web site works well – the home page comes up as it should.

However, all the other pages of the site have the slug “/blog2/” in the page titles.

I have read a couple of complicated articles about how to remove the “/blog2/” but I have not had enough confidence to try to follow those suggestions since they are so technical.

I wonder what would be possible – a change through wp-permalinks, or some other way?

The web site is http://www.santarosahealing.com and the theme is “Live.”

    Thank you!!

  • Have you tried just a regular update of permalinks in the backend?

@scott: that’s not going to work.

@stephen53: you have WordPress installed in a folder called blog2 rather than installed in root, the top level folder in your hosting account. For the best results, see http://codex.wordpress.org/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory#Using_a_pre-existing_subdirectory_install to keep the WordPress files in /blog2/ but make the site and the links appear to be in root.

    Thank you both.
Songdogtech – It sounds terribly complicated, but I really want to fix it. I have just tried a different method which seemed relatively simple using a plugin – following directions at this article.
But I had no success. I even tried editing in that fix-it plugin from “blog” to “blog2”.
So that leaves me back with your suggestions, Songdogtech. The link you sent had more than one article. Are you suggesting the one titled: “Using a pre-existing subdirectory install?”
I don’t know where the “index” files are, and where the “root” directory is. Perhaps you can tell me more about this – I’m not a real tech-knowledgeable person. Thank you very much!

Don’t know what to tell you; it’s not as hard as it looks. You want to folow “Using a pre-existing subdirectory install.”

You need FTP to move the WordPress files. See Filezilla and FTP Clients « WordPress Codex.

This got resolved. I got a help from Yahoo, the site host.
