• I upload plugin, activated it, and this is my message:

    BackWPup:
    - Temp folder '/var/www/vhosts/plateaupediatrics.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/tmp/' does not exists!
    - Temp folder '/var/www/vhosts/plateaupediatrics.com/httpdocs/wp-content/plugins/backwpup/tmp/' is not writeable!
    - Log folder '/var/www/vhosts/plateaupediatrics.com/httpdocs/wp-content/backwpup-c2909-logs/' does not exists!
    - Log folder '/var/www/vhosts/plateaupediatrics.com/httpdocs/wp-content/backwpup-c2909-logs/' is not writeable!

I don’t have the slightest idea what this is or how to fix it. My WordPress is out of date, which is why I am trying to back it up so that I can update my plugins too. Could that be the problem? I can’t find what version of WordPress is currently installed either.

Unfortunately, I don’t understand what those directions are saying. I have changed permissions before, but I don’t know what “chmod” or “chown” is referring to. Or what this means: “Just double check the www (recursive) directory ownership (or chown it as needed), and double check permissions (you might have to chmod recursive though).”

Or what this means: “created tmp dir”.

thank you for any help you can give me. I’m in a little over my head with this and my “Dummies” books aren’t shedding any light into it (I don’t even know what to google anymore).

I think I fixed the login error that I was getting but when I try to run the backup it just stays at 0%.
