  • Hi,

I have been trying to import media files from localhost to remote server. But have had no success.

    Any clues?

    Hi Esmi,

I use export, to export an xml files. The xml file contains the local host path for the images that I have on my blog, but when I try to import the xml file, everything gets imported……the pages, posts but the media files dont get imported.

and yes ………I am clicking on “download and import file attachments”.

    Thanks.

Does your localhost site use a domain name or IP address that allows other sites to contact it? If not, then an import of this kind is never going to work. Your remote site has communicate with your locally hosted site to transfer the images.

Thanks Esmi for you reply. What is the best solution to transfer media files from local system to remote?. Do you think I should be using xcloner?

    Thanks.

    I’d suggest reviewing Moving_WordPress.

Thanks, I am looking at ways to sync local and remote using winscp and smartftp.

That will never work. It’s the database that need syncing in most cases.
