HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error)
Something is causing PHP to crash. Can you get into your web server’s file system via FTP or other host provided file management tools?
If you can then navigate to your wp-content
directory and renamed plugins
to plugins-old
. Don’t delete it just rename that one directory.
See if you can sign into your WordPress after that.
Is phpmyadmin an FTP client? Im a beginner lol
I accessed phpmyadmin though localhost/phpmyadmin and did what you asked but it didnt work. I’m probably doing something wrong

I’d stay away from phpMyAdmin for now if I were you. 😉
Your WordPress installation has 2 parts: files and database.
When you get a 500 error that often means there is something wrong with your files and that’s sometimes an issue with a plugin.
The instructions I posted above require you to get access to your files and rename that plugins
directory to something else. That’s just one way to do it, there are other ways that is more complicated.
If you can do that and it lets you in then it was a plugin that’s causing you grief. Or it could be your theme but my suggestion is to take it one step at a time.
Ok cool 😉
What programme do I use to rename the plugins directory.
Filezilla?

You may want to ask your host for assistance. FileZilla is good but you want to make sure your host even has FTP enabled for your account.

They should and most do but show your host this thread and perhaps they can help you out.
Okay, I will show them and hopefully something can be done because I’m at a loss here. Thanks for your advice! 😀
