  • It looks to me like this plug-in already includes alt attributes automatically with the category name.

    Sure, it does. Eg. for the category “Wildlife”

    alt=”Wildlife” title=”Wildlife”

    But how is a category name an adequate description for an image for accessibility purposes?

    All we need here is another field for a custom alt text for each image.

    Anyone have any ideas how this could be added to this plugin?

    Any help much appreciated,

    If the category name is sufficient as text, then it’s sufficient for the alt attribute. There’s no need for anything additional, and in fact, in 99% of cases, anything extra would be detrimental to accessibility.

    You’d have to talk to the developer about adding another field; but I wouldn’t recommend adding it — it wouldn’t serve accessibility.

    Hi,

    I’ve add compatibility with SEO Friendly Image since Category Icons v2.0.5. Try it.

    I’ve downloaded and registered for WordPress and NextGEN. Can not get any further than “log-in”. Sure would like to use these two, but nothing I do works. Can someone help?
