How to fix 404 errors found in categories?

    Hello,

    I’m getting 404 errors on all my categories…

    I’ve recently switched themes (to a premium) and have got this problem ever since. My site is kingfut.com but it’s currently down for maintenance (trying to get this new theme to work).

    Please advice what the issue may be. Each one of my categories does have posts in them but they cannot be found by clicking the link.

    What happens if you switch to the Twenty Twelve theme?

    Just checked, still doesn’t work with 2012.

    Can we see the site using the default theme with all plugins deactivated?

    Same problem, although I did keep the Jetpack plugin active, since it links my site to WP.

    I experienced this problem once before with my previous theme, it pretty much fixed itself last time.

    Any idea?

    @egyft: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    @esmi – Huh?

    @egyft – If you’re using permalinks go to the Settings -> Permalinks and switch them to default (no permalinks). See if that helps.

    Thanks for the help guys.

    It had nothing to do with plugins, turns out, I needed to access permalinks (thanks wpcanyon for pointing me in that direction) and set a ‘category base’. The default, /category, was corrupted unless you type it in yourself.

    Resolved.
