An automated WordPress update has failed to complete

    That is the message highlighted in yellow at the top. The backend and the site itself are loading up very slowly. When I click the “please attempt the update again now” button nothing happens but loading wheel keeps spinning. Please help.
    P.S I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to web, so please be very descriptive.

    Seeing the same issue… Also slow. Added super cache (which helped but did not resolve).

    @waynenh1: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    @antb: Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
