• That is the message highlighted in yellow at the top. The backend and the site itself are loading up very slowly. When I click the “please attempt the update again now” button nothing happens but loading wheel keeps spinning. Please help.
    P.S I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to web, so please be very descriptive.
    thank you

  • Seeing the same issue… Also slow. Added super cache (which helped but did not resolve).

    @waynenh1: As per the Forum Welcome, please post your own topic. Posting in an existing topic prevents us from being able to track issues by topic. Added to which, your problem – despite any similarity in symptoms – is likely to be completely different.

    @antb: Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php
