• In the moment I use 1.3 alpha 3 and it works fine. But I’m snoopy, so I want to install the next alpha versions. Is this the way to do this?
    a) I’ll backup the files at my server.
    b) I upload the whole new version to my server and overwrite the existing files.
    c) I restore single files, which I had changed before (index.php, wp-layout.css, wp-comment and so on).
Or have I to backup the mysql database too? (I’m not very experienced in this thing.)

  • Always backup your database.
Don’t rely on overwrite – it’s better to delete the files on the server.
The only ones I am not deleting on my testblog are the images, the plugins and the css.
