Change default stars to custom icon?

How can I change the default stars style with something else?

It’s very easy. First, go to the Ratings settings. Then, on the Rating-Widget options, select the “Custom” button in the color section, and follow the instructions which will appear in the new window.

This indicates that you can change the default stars to something else (perhaps something custom). Is there an easy way to do this (from the front end) or will it require editing the CSS or a PHP file?

That’s correct, you can modify the default graphics. In order to do this in our WordPress plugin you’ll need to modify function rw_attach_rating_js in the main rating file rating-widget.php according to http://rating-widget.com/documentation/#rw_api_example_custom_image

That’s not exactly clear to me what to do. Can you provide more detailed instructions?

@dsberger, in anyway you’ll need to create a sprite of the graphics according to this instructions.

The easiest way, only if you don’t mind sharing & contributing your design to the community, would be sending me the design directly to [vova AT rating-widget DOT com], so I’ll add it to the existing set of themes.

Otherwise, it’s not a straight forward modification. Please let me know how would you like to continue from here.

The custom style was added to version 1.6.7 🙂

Dear @netigate, well actually @dsberger have sent me the graphics according to our design instructions directly to my email [vova AT rating-widget DOT com] and I’ve added the theme to our themes collection.
