    such as <h1><strong><span style="color: #0000ff;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: medium;"

    This is on every single page WTF?

    I need to periodically change wording as I have seasonal specials , better ideas etc, but every single dam page has a bunch of code.

    Also I would like to remove some of the pictures and add some different ones but the new pictures don’t seem to upload , at least I can’t find them

    Don’t they try these upgrades out before they release them? If someone knows how I can go back to my old version I would be most grateful

    I do not like this new version in any way, shame on me for upgrading .

    also Happy New Years

    Are you cutting and pasting from word? HTML will show up in the text mode while it should not show up in the visual mode unless you pasted it there.

    What’s your site. And they’re not written for people with phd’s. WordPress.org provides free open source content. If you want tested, compatible software without options to install anything custom, try WordPress.com. WordPress 3.5 works just fine with the default theme and without any plugins. When you start putting in software written by other people that isn’t supported, you’re bound to have some problems.

    I pretty much wrote all the content on word and sent it to my web guy and he put the site together. I have edited the site many many times and never had any code show up in the edit pages

    So are you saying when I edit I can just delete the code along with the words I want to change?

    Thread Starter SonnyJames

    (@sonnyjames)

    Well when I clicked on the link on my site that said upgrade to 3.5 its wonderful , great , all new – No where did it mention – WAIT there might be compatible issues – cause if there was I would not of done it!

    Because now I can’t do want needs to be done –

    So how do I change it back?

    So are you saying when I edit I can just delete the code along with the words I want to change?

    If the code came from word. You should be able to delete any code showing in visual mode.

    Most likely something went wrong in the auto upgrade. Do a manual install with directions below. Back up your database before.

    I don’t recall ever seeing any onsite link to update with the text

    upgrade to 3.5 its wonderful , great , all new

    However every 3.5 upgrade I have performed presented an alert message saying

    Important: before updating, please back up your database and files. For help with updates, visit the Updating WordPress Codex page.

    It is certainly worth reading the codex page at the second link http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress and you should always have a recent backup of your files and database to be able to perform a full restore in event of any kind of disaster that might befall your site.

    Here’s some of the it’s Wonderful – ( Well NOT )

    It’s the most wonderful time of the year: a new WordPress release is available and chock-full of goodies to delight bloggers and developers alike. We’re calling this one “Elvin” in honor of drummer Elvin Jones, who played with John Coltrane in addition to many others. If you’ve been around WordPress a while, the most dramatic […]

    And NO there are NO warnings & that SUCKS

    Got to remember SonnyJames that thousands have upgraded with no problems.

    So lets get your working. Try the manual install. Follow all the directions.

    I also noticed that my new version of word press doesn’t allow me to
    * Color my Text

    * Change the Font Size

    Here are my options for editing –

    B I Link Del Ins Img Ul Li code more lookup close tags fullscreen

    This is considered an upgrade? or is something missing?

    And to Kmessinger – appreciate your help , but I am not the most adept at doing what your fix says to do. I’m afraid that I would make things worse. I probably have no other option but to pay my web guy to fix this – I do remember that I had to purchase my other Word Press Theme and send the link to my web guy. I wonder is that why my other theme was so much better then this one?

    It sounds as if you are in html mode, but you are used to the visual editor. If your visual editor is not working for you there may be an issue with jquery not loading – possibly related to a plugin or theme.

    Some people experiencing this issue have fixed it by adding the following line to their wp-config.php file:

    define('SCRIPT_DEBUG', true);

    This may be the answer if your issue is the same as theirs. eg: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/post-editor-missing-in-wp-35-after-upgrade?replies=59&view=all

    (@sonnyjames)

    Well this is the fixer’s comments —

    I agree it’s just a quick and dirty solution. But it will allow you to work on the site normally while the issue is fully resolved.

    It may be that something went wrong with the update of the jquery libraries on the latest update. Not sure what tho, I’m still going around and fixing problems before I debug anything. SO DON’T THINK THIS HELPS

    In checking thru-out the forums, there sure are alot of problems after upgrading to 3.5.

    Sure would of benefited many if WP would of gotten them dam bugs out before releasing 3.5 –

    Thread Starter SonnyJames

    (@sonnyjames)

    Ok still no solution?

    disabled all the plugins – no help
    empty cache – no help
    reinstalled 3 or 4 times – no help
    updated Java – no help
    Box is unchecked in the Admin for

    I have no error messages that I can find

    When I try and edit pages I have no text showing and visual doesn’t work

    So can I give someone a key to my site and see if they can do something? I need to fix this ASAP

    What is the url for your site?

    updated Java – no help

    I used to recommend that but no longer. Whether you have a current version of Java or do not even have it on your computer does not matter to wp.

    Hello Kmessinger;

    My site is now fixed , my web guy fixed everything, and I must say when everything works as it is suppose to , it sure is a big improvement. No doubt alot of hard work went in the re-design . I appreciate your help

    Much Obliged
