Cannot edit old posts or create new ones with html

    Hiya,

    I’m still having a bit of a problem with my wordpress install. I’m currently running the latest version 2.2.1 but began having the problem after I installed 2.2 and tried to use the myStatus widget (which I have since disabled and deleted).

    Whenever I go to edit an old post and hit save, the changes don’t save and I am re-directed to my index.php file in my public_html folder. This also happens if I create a brand new post and either paste the text into the editor from MS Word or include any html (right now I can’t post any links or pictures).

    I’ve tried a reinstall too but it was to no avail.

    I tried doing a search on these forums but couldn’t find an answer to the problem so I would really appreciate any help at all!

    I have a very similar problem, Lyns1987. I hope someone can come up with the answer!

    I have been having this problem – on my local installation intermitently, and on my remote installation all the time now.

    It first started under 2.0, but an upgrade to 2.2 has not changed this.

    The Code editor does not show ‘p’ or ‘font’ tags when posts do work – just raw text with blank lines. Any HTML seems to break it – it just resets to index.php as you describe!

    I get no luck turning JavaScript off and entering HTML directly. I have PHP 4.4.3 on the remote, and PHP 5.1.4 local. Magic quotes on/off still the same.

    You will be alarmed to hear I have taken to entering the text ‘Stub’ in New Post page, then entering the HTML directly into the database…! Please help.

    Cheers for replying to me guys- I’m glad it’s not just me having this problem.

    danlester, does the HTML work when you enter it straight into the database? The fact that I can’t post any links in my blog is doing my head in!
