Instead of using double quotes, try putting "
in HTML/Text editor and switch to visual editor.
Heck! I mean the HTML entity of “. i.e & q u o t ; or & # 3 4 ; without spaces.
Nop, I’ve tried that already but wp switches it back into ” the moment it is displayed It switches the " into ” again and turns it into the curled quotes ( ” ) when displayed.

After some search I found this issue in this forum 4 years ago. Someone made a plugin for it so you could put the html code you want to put on the site for someone else between and
and then the wptexturize would leave it alone. Now I found you don’t need the plugin anymore for it seems to be default to use
for html codes to stay the way they are. Seems logical. There is even a button for it I see now.
