• Since the update to 3.5 when I backspace or “delete” (on my Mac) from the WYSIWYG side of my wordpress post, it randomly deletes all span style coding in my post.

Sometimes it deletes all coding when I switch between HTML and WYSIWIG.

As it happens with every post I create now, I’m not sure if there is a fix? In the previous update I had issues with using keyboard shortcuts for italics, which now seems to be fixed, but the span style is a problem as I use that a lot for font size and multiple font colors in my posts. And using text editor isn’t feasible.

Thanks and as this is my first forum post I hope I’m not in the wrong area.

  • What theme are you using? Have you tried the troubleshooting steps discussed in this post?

I had tried the steps on that post and tested it on one of my blogs that uses twentyten and set the theme to twentyeleven and still had the issue. The problem only came about after the update and on my other blog I use a custom elegant themes and another a child theme for twentyten. Same issue across all.

Do you have empty or un-closed span tags within your post?

No and it happens with brand new posts I create with even just one span tag using their font color auto span creator tools. I’ve been trying to isolate it to a specific issue but it isn’t consistent. Sometimes just back spacing on the WYSIWYG side will cause the entire coding to disappear. Not just color but font size.

    What plugins are you using?

On one blog just AKISMET and jetpack on another both of those and special text boxes and shortcodes.
