    Hi Johannes96,

    Two ways:

    1) If you use the scheduler, then it will trigger itself automatically.

    2) If you press ‘Backup Now’, then a backup will be scheduled for 5 seconds later.

Both these methods rely on someone visiting your website in order to allow WordPress to run its scheduler. So, if you use method 2) then you should wait 5 seconds, then visit a page yourself.

    Hi Ken,

Yes, deletions will take place automatically for the currently selected storage method. You can check this out by turning on logging, and reading the logs. (Or just wait until it happens).

For S3, you can also deploy S3’s time-based deletion features – but those are built into your Amazon S3 console, not part of UpdraftPlus.

If you find UpdraftPlus helpful, then please consider making a donation – http://david.dw-perspective.org.uk/donate ; UpdraftPlus is becoming quite popular and I get support requests most days; downloads is over 10,000 and the current amount donated is $0 !

    David
