It would be great if there was a way to preview an e-mail also when you lock down to a predefine template in the settings.

Sending a proper HTML mail is not an easy task and right now I have to save/prepare/send for each minor edit.

Even better would be to have the “test email” feature be available on the editing page so I can send myself an actual e-mail while I edit the newsletter, for proof.

Last thing on this topic: if you can replace the editing area with your own editing area so that WP’s editor will not take over the HTML and remove all the HTML tags this would be even awesome.

    Hi ry, thanks for suggestions.
About live preview, I’m working on it, it will be in next release.
About WP html editor issues… I suggest that you disable the rich editor for the user that write newsletters (this option is in user profile).

Re: disable HTML editing, my suggestion was in order to avoid the need to disable HTML editing which is great for regular posts.

I agree, but I like to use the standard WP editor, not custom…
You can use you main user to manage posts and pages and what else… with the rich editor enabled. Then, you can create another user to manage only newsletters, without rich editor. Quick but useful…

It is your plug-in so it is your call, but my $0.02 are that when you have few admin users that need to be able to post both actual posts as well as newsletters, asking each to have two accounts is a real pain. Also, the newsletter plugin gain no benefits from the built-in editor, only problems, so I don’t see any value in using the default editor…
btw, at one point I was trying to use the feature that allows to expend custom tags in the content and I always got an empty newsletter, so even this feature didn’t work (couldn’t tell if it was a problem in my specific deployment or a general issue).
