Make a Child Theme so you don’t lose changes when twentytwelve is updated.
And then use Firebug with Firefox, or use the developer tools in Chrome or Safari or IE to work with and change the CSS and HTML. You want to look at the body and #page padding and margin values.
Thanks, SongDogTech. I am using a child theme: http://scottfishercarpentry.com/wp-content/themes/twentytwelvechild/style.css
And thanks to your suggestion, I am using the developer tools in Chrome.
It’s about as clear as mud, but I’ll see what I can figure out. Cheers.
I don’t see where I could effectively close the gap, SongDogTech. Any suggestions?
Using Firebug shows this CSS code:
body .site {
box-shadow: 0 2px 6px rgba(100, 100, 100, 0.3);
margin-bottom: 3.42857rem;
margin-top: 3.42857rem;
padding: 0 2.85714rem;
}
So to put the appropriate change in your child theme CSS – you would use just the changed portion:
body .site {
margin-top: 0;
}
Thank you! It worked perfectly. Next time I’ll use Firebug for Firefox. Cheers!
