• Hello,

I own a few sites, most of which are entirely built using wordpress. Some I have an html landing page and stuff. So I have some knowledge, just enough to get me into trouble!

I have decided to create a new account and move one of the sites from the old account to a new one. I was able to export the associated database to my own computer’s hard drive, and then import and the import said it was successful. But when I go to the site, something didn’t work. The pages I built and the posts I had written did not upload. When I checked the SQL database, the content is there, but it’s not showing up.

Does anyone know of something I could be doing wrong? Or a setting maybe that I missed?

Please don’t think I’m “bumping”. I wanted to edit above post but cannot find edit button.

I wanted to add that I went to my sql database that I uploaded and looked into the matter. The posts did upload, I can read them inside the database, but they are not showing on the website here: http://www.classysites.com/blog is where the pages and posts should show, but as you can see it still shows the original install.

Should I delete everything and re-load? I’m thinking maybe the problem is that I installed a new version of wordpress before I uploaded.

I’m going to try that now and I’ll come back to report if it worked. Can someone tell me how to edit my post so I don’t unintentionally bump?

Hmm. THIS post allows me to edit but first does not.

    Try reviewing Moving_WordPress.

thank you esmi, I’m going to retrace my steps and try it this way. I’ll report back when I know more. Maybe this will help someone in the future.
