wp5 ugrade can't edit pages

    After upgrading to wp5 I can’t edit pages. The edit box is blank. The website reflects the last edit but I am unable to edit any page now. WP support said to deactivate/activate all plugins but that did not resolve anything. Now they say that it is a theme problem. I do not want to change themes again.
