• i want to upload a child theme using filezilla will this have it show up in editor of wordpress if not where does it go so i can access it.

    Also at the moment filezilla isnt working properly for me once i connect the remote site area is plant and all it shows is a /, i know this isnt area for help with this but if anyone knows i would appreciate it

    Yes, upload your Child Theme to the /wp-content/themes/ directory.

    Like Andrew stated you upload it to the wp-content/themes folder and it will actually appear in your Appearance>Themes for activation. In the editor you can select it via the dropdown without it being an active theme.

    As far as that trailing slash / it means it is the root of your site. Some hosts have their file system set up that way and the actual files reside in the folder: public_html or www

    ok thanks for that i now understand, with the filezilla trailing slash it doesnt have any files or folders show up not even public_html do i have to do something for them to be uploaded?
