    Hi there,

I’m having a few issues on my site and trying to clear plugins I’m not currently using to make sure they are not the cause.

I’m not able to delete NextGEN Gallery from my MultiSite network admin dashboard. When I click delete I get a server 500 error.

If I choose to delete the plugin folder via FTP will that leave any lines of code in wordpress (that could potentially cause problems)? Or how else is best to remove it for now?

    Thanks

  • Cannot delete NextGen Gallery 1.9.8. Using WordPress 3.5 (and Google Analyticator 6.4.1)

Tried NextGEN Gallery, really like it.
But then discovered Google Analytics no longer tracking Events. Deactivated NextGEN Gallery (& NextGEN Optimizer) and found GA would count Events again. Retest, same results. Disappointed, I cannot use NextGEN Gallery.

    NextGEN Optimizer deleted okay.
NextGEN Gallery won’t delete, it hangs with a blank screen.
    Purge caches, still won’t delete.
    Disable caches, still won’t delete.
Deleted folder via FTP so I can reinstall to try delete again because I want a proper database cleanup.
    Reinstalled NextGEN Gallery.
Without activating, I tried to delete again.
Still, the delete hangs with a blank screen.

Please advise, I would like a proper delete to clear database records…

    Thank you.

Try CHMOD plugin folder and subfolders to 777, then deleting again.
If that doesn’t work, you may need to drop the database table entries for Nexgen. (reference ngg)
One of the WordPress DB cleanup plugins may help – I use Clean Options http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/clean-options/
It’s an old plugin, but still seems to work with WP3.5

    Thanks Mike,

An update became available for the plugin yesterday, so I updated and then it deleted without any problems. Lovely 🙂

Thank you for update, now deletes ok. Sure wish it did not squelch the G-Analytics Event Counter … !
