Upgrade Worries

    Hello all,

    I’m currently running ver. 2.0.4 and I know I need to upgrade. The thing is, I’ve heard horror stories (nothing specific mind you) about things going horribly wrong, just by clicking that lil ‘ole upgrade link.

    Any truth or logic to this?

    how horrible is the thought of having your web site defaced?

    Upgrade to 2.0.10, you will be fine, and there are plenty of people to help you.

    The upgrade link in my Fantastico is for 2.1.3. I was thinking of just going all the way with it.

    in my experience, fantastico tends to handle the upgrade perfectly well

    Back up and download a copy of you db if you want to be extra sure. You’re supposed to do that anyway. 🙂

    Well if you’re running Fantastico, that means your on CPanel. CPanel -> Backups -> There’ll be links todownload copies of your databases there. You can also do full site download but I’d skip that as you can always download another copy of wp 2.0.4 if needbe.
