• Hi, I’m a novice blogger and I’ve noticed that this has been an issue that other bloggers in the past have faced, but I didn’t get any clarity in reading through their replies.

Basically, in my widgets section, specifically the recent posts widgets (theme Bodega) none of my categories are being displayed. All I see is the same “All Categories” display. This is very vexing and distorts the image we are seeking to display.

If anyone has ANY advice, help, or solutions, I would greatly, greatly appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance,
    Huey

This is a wordpress issue. I have already used some of the other suggestions in other queries such as resetting the categories value in mySQL, installing the widgets reset plugin and deactivating my theme and reactivating it.

Thanks I appreciate your clarification, though.

Have you tried the basic Troubleshooting 101 steps to resolve your problem?

    – Reading the troubleshooting 3.5 master list to see if any of your problems is listed there: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-35-master-list

    – Flushing your browser cache.

Resetting the plugins folder by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    – Switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    – Re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder from a fresh download of WordPress. by using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. (manual upgrade)

I’d start with the switching to the Twenty Eleven and deactivating your plugins first.
