Using Bitly with Simple Facebook Connect

Is there an existing Bitly tool that will integrate with Simple Facebook Connect that you know of?

If not, and I was looking to add the code myself, am I correct in thinking that I should write the function and then make a call from the line
“$attachment[‘link’] = “…

in the function
“sfc_publish_automatic($id, $post)”

in the file
“simple-facebook-connect/sfc-publish.php” ??

Any direction or guidance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
