  • Hello!

    Thanks for your support!
I’ve just uploaded version 1.3.6 of the plugin which allows users that are logged in as administrators to control which user capability is required to change the plugin settings.
Keep in mind that only one capability can be set at once.

I hope this will solve the problem that you are experiencing.

    Best regards,
    Jonathan

    My problem is this:

I have an articles directory. The authors aren’t allowed to enter in wp-admin page, so they have a separate page for posting, named author-panel.

Me, as an administrator, I can post a featured image, but the authors can’t. So.. i ask you if there is a mode to put the featured image uploader box to the authors-panel too like there is to wp-admin.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mihai.

    Hi!

I’m guessing that your authors log on to the wp-admin as well, but they get a limited panel? I’m going to create some new users on my own website and make sure it works good. I’ll update here as soon as I know more.

Yes, that’s right. They get limited access. And I would need an integration code, to add that function on their panel.

Thank you very much for doing this,
    Mihai.

    Hello again!

I’ve looked through all the code for the plugin, and I’ve also set up some author users on my private website to test it. For me everything works correctly and all the author users get to see the meta box as well. Have you modified your authors capabilities or something?

Actually, as I said upper, they do not have access to wp-admin page. They have a special page, with the tinymce integrated there. The problem was that I couldn’t insert the drag&drop box there, and I need a short-code to do that, or something like “<?php add_function(‘drag_drop’); ?>”, something like that.

    Thanks.

    Hello again!

Alright, my apologies! Although, the plugin spawns a meta box, and these are meant to be used within wp-admin. I’ve been looking around but found nothing regarding outputting the meta box outside WordPress. As far as I know this is just not possible because of the deep integration they have within the admin.

I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can help you with this one.

    Best regards,
    Jonathan

Thank you very much for this. I really didn’t know that it cannot be done for the moment. Thanks again for searching for it.

I set this topic as resolved.

    Besh regards,
    Mihai.
