    To say it shortly: Highly recommended!

    it has all the features you’ll ever want to sell digital downloads and yet it’s so simple it takes only a few minutes to figure out how to set it up and use it.

    I’m planning to use it to sell digital download for musicians website and can’t say how great it is !

    In addition to this extremely powerful plugin you can buy addons to add various functionalities to the plugin or integrate it with other plugin/services (newsletter, payment gateways, audio player, Amazon S3 storage, and more)

    Really appreciate that the developer follows a “create more value than you can capture” model.

    Great plugin, great business model. Hats off to the developer !

    Oh and one more thing: is there a way to add bitcoin integration or would you consider adding such a feature ?

    A bitcoin extension is planned though we don’t have a set timeframe for it yet.

    Update: bought the following addons to enhance Easy Digital Downloads:
    – amazon S3 integration
    – integration with wysija newsletter plugin

    Using them on on a musician website: http://bijouxdefamille.fr/
    Works perfectly. Finishing the design, and ready to launch the album next week.

    A word for musicians: I’m using these plugins to build a home made version of Bandcamp (a service that let you sell music directly to fans).

    Fans can choose a price (between 0 and 10€) to buy mp3 or wave versions of the music.

    When they download they provide their email address and the wysija integration allow them to signup for the newsletter.

    Bands can use this combination to promote their music, sell it and build up their mailing list without have to use 3rd party services that take a share of the sales (in our case only paypal is taking a percentage).

    @pippin: I initially wanted to allow fans to choose their price, but it seems I can only fix different prices and let them choose. Maybe have a”name your own price” for buyers would be a interesting feature ?
