While I find this plugin to be great for my purposes, the ‘Exclude Categories’ selector seems to be ignoring my selections upon save, thus not filtering the output of the posts in their respective months / years.

Is there another way to do this, as it’s fairly critical for presenting the correct content.

My initial thought was to call the categories a post is in and output it as a class on the post link, meaning I could filter using classes, but this seems a waste of the ‘Exclude Categories’ function…

    Any suggestions welcome.

In some browsers excluded categories are not being showed as selected, but if you check html code they’re selected. The plugin is just a widget. Even if some categories are excluded in the widget they’re not excluded in the normal navigation, the’re plugins to implement that kind of stuff.

I have the same issue. The exclude categories does not work. I tried in firefox, chrome, safari. When I hit save and the widget reloads, the previously selected option in ‘Exclude Categories’ is not selected anymore. The archive list generated on the site also ignores the selected ‘Exclude Categories’ and just shows all the posts.

Do you have any cache plugin? Does it shows any errors?

My browser on linux didn’t “saved” because selected color was the same as non-selected, and it looked like it wasn’t saved but it was.

I’ve tried on my site and it works. Off course, the month will disappear when you exclude all the categories in that month, if there’s one post with that 1 one category it will show it.

Hi. Nice plugin, but I have the same issue.
I tried in chrome and firefox, and the same results than jo.c

    Thnaks!

I wonder if its an WordPress version issue – maybe a conflict somewhere?

Is there away to not exclude any categories? By default for me, uncategorized is shown in the list as excluded.

MMm, that’s a bug. I’ll need to fix it. You can select uncategorized category when holding “Ctrl” key to unselected it. save it and it won’t be unselected.

I have the same problem reported by others – the exclude categories are not saved. FWIW, I am on WP 3.5.
