display recent posts in sidebar WITH date?

    Can you display recent posts in sidebar WITH date? I have tried with this code…

    <?php query_posts(‘showposts=6’);?>
    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
    href=”<?php the_permalink() ?>”><span class=”date”><?php the_time(‘m.j’) ?></span> <?php the_title() ?>

    And it wont work… it displays the posts in every page… check it out here

    the problem is at the bottom of the page…
    it displays the last 6 posts I have in the archives…

    this is bad…

    Help?
