 * 1.11.1 Update gives me the following error.
 * `Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC, expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE
   or '$' in .../wp-content/plugins/broken-link-checker/includes/transactions-manager.
   php on line 35`
 * Looks like it’s due to my server having PHP 5.4.45 installed. Is there a workaround
   to this?

 * Apologies. The server was actually using **PHP 5.2** something, so the problem
   was 100% on my end. No error after switching PHP versions.
 * Dave, you are probably using an old version of PHP.

 * I just updated to WP 4.4.2 and updated my Theme. Hosted at GoDaddy. What or How
   do I correct Old PHP?

 * Thanks.
 * I did a search at GoDaddy and found that they indeed had a newer version of PHP
   and called support to make sure, it would be no problem to change. I’m not comfortable
   making changes like that.
 * I do find it odd that no mention of this issue possibly occurring with the plugin
   update was notated in the call to upgrade the plugin. As I said earlier, after
   the upgrade; I could not even access my WordPress Dashboard, I had to make this
   change and wait for the process at the server to take place.
 * Still don’t know if it is fixed. (Wait time is at least 7 minutes, possibly longer)

 * Hi all,
 * Same error is show me after update Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STATIC,
   expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or ‘$’ in /home/content/XXXXXX/html/blog/wp-
   content/plugins/broken-link-checker/includes/transactions-manager.php on line
   35
 * Another option that update PHP version in host? Maybe the creator can paste a
   link with a previous version for de-update (replace) this.
 * Thanks.

 * christianmemije, we had the same issue, so thanks for the old file.
    We have
   reinstalled 1.10.1 and all is working well again. FYI: we use PHP Version: 5.2.17
   and have no idea how to update it.
 * Regards and thanks,

 * A PHP upgrade is a major change for such a simple plugin and can have ramifications
   across an entire website depending on the code.
 * I’d rather downgrade or uninstall the plugin than take a risk with my entire
   site. I hope the author develops a workaround.

 * I had the same error after upgrading to 1.11.1 running PHP 5.2.
 * I’ve since upgraded first to PHP 5.3 and then to PHP 5.4 but the problem persists.
 * Finally I remove the plugin and then reinstalled it -> the problem persists.
 * Any ideas?
 * Thanks,
 * Will

 * PHP 5.2 backwards compatibility patch fixed in 1.11.2 should be in the repo any
   minute.

 * Can’t log into my website either, I’m running PHP 5.2. Is there anything I need
   to do, or will the update to the App just update automatically to 1.11.2, I assume?

 * Hi, my site is experiencing the same issues. How do I update the plugin now that
   I can’t get to the Dashboard anymore? Thanks for any help.

 * I have the same problem, what PHP should the host be running? I just updated
   it from 5.3 to 5.4 but that’s made no difference. Haven’t been able to access
   my website for nearly a week, I just want to delete the plug-in now, I’ve already
   deleted it from my other website. How do I do that when I have no access to the
   WP backend? Thanks, Lesley
