• Good evening

I am trying to add a new Page to my WordPress blog. Yes, it should be a relatively easy task you would think.

As per the standard ritual, I went into the admin panel, selected “Create New Page”, entered a title and some text and hit save. The page slug was called ‘test’.

Now when I go to view the page, it’s not there! Have a look yourself if you don’t believe me 🙂

I get an error 404, any ideas why, or how I can get to the bottom of why this is happening?

    Cheers
    Jake

  • Have you managed to create a Page before on this blog?

Did you do anything immediately before creating this Page, for example within the Admin Panel? I’m thinking (wild guess) that you might have tweaked the permalink structure

    Hey there Richard,

Yes I have already created other pages in the past, such as http://www.t-shirt-alert.com/about-t-shirt-alert/

My permalink structure looks like this is customised, but only very simply, using this /%postname%

Does this shed any more light on things?

If you only hit “Save” then it’s probably saved as a draft. Go back into wp-admin, access the write section, and see if you have a draft notification at the top of the page. If so, click on the link, then when it loads, click on “Publish”.

Hey – in the “Page Status” box it says “Published”, so I don’t think this is the problem either… 🙁

Did you ever get it fixed? If so, how? I’m having the same problem. Please help.
