• I’m using wp 2 and I wonder if I can install (my host offers from fantastico) phpBB2, and then have it as part of my blog. By that, I mean, is there a way to create a new page, but have it actually be the home page for the discussion board? So far, the bulletin boards I’ve seen that are plugins seem a bit complicated to install and then, it didn’t seem as easy to read as I might hope. Any enlightenment on this subject will be appreciated.

  • Both these sites http://breadnroses.ca/ and http://enmasse.ca/ have phpbb using wordpress as the front page, both have done it through having the blog at the main address and the board as mainaddress/forums with a link to the forums.

The wordpress is used for members to write articles.

Well gee, Simple Forum is about as simple to install as it gets, and it’s nice looking without tweaks, comes in 3 colors now (blue, black, and silver), allows a LOT of things without doing any backend changes other than what’s available on the options page….

In fact, remembering back to the days when I used phpBB, I wouldn’t go back to that ever, the plugin’s so much easier.

Thanks for that. I’ll look into it.

The Simple forum site is broken. Booo…..

Yeah, Andy’s been having trouble with that occasionally lately. I’ll email him.

    Try this: Simple Forum

Looks like the link from my bookmarks is weird (works for me on my setup though….)
