• So I’ve cut the menu, redesigned a few things here and there mainly simple stuff but somehow I have lost that the drop down category list on the wp-admin post.php page. I just have an empty box with no title. I have the same drop down list in the categories php but where the hell in the post.php get that script from?

Okay I’ve solved my own riddle and I guess this will be for people who have done the same as myself. If you have gone into the Admin area and have changed the Options>writing>when starting a post show the ‘advanced control’ radio button ticked instead of ‘simple control’ you might find that the category list is not there any longer and there is a blank unlabeled box. Just go back to simple control and maybe I can come up with a hack to remedy this confusion.

I think you’ve just found an odd glitch that is sometimes reported.
I see the cat list in both simple and advanced, but some users have reported it missing, yet it reappears either on a refresh or when switching to another screen and back.

Yeah I thought maybe so but I’m in the edit-form advanced and I don’t even see the coding for categories. There is no list like in in the simple and where you would think that the blank box would appear in the php its not even there when i pull up it with the css. There everyother box but not the blank one.
