• Hi,
I have a site that I am having problems with.

When I try change the Title tags the Heading on that same page also change.
E.g. If the Page Title is ‘Food’ and I click on it, the Title tag I then see is ‘Food’ and the heading is also ‘food’.

I do not want this to happen. I want it to be like this:
Click on the page called ‘Food’ and see the Title tag as: ‘Local Quality Food’ and for the heading to stay as ‘food’.

I have two other website and they do what exactly what I am requiring, but this particular site is really giving me the gears.

Would it be the template I am using or the taxonomies?

If you can help me I would greatly appreciate it (but please explain it in layman terms).

    Thanks in advance.

  • Perhaps you could clarify what you mean by “Page Title”, “Title” and “Heading”?

    Hi
Page Title – This is the tabs you can click on within the website (the core navigation)
Title Tag – This is what appears in your browser bar (not the URL)
Heading – This would be H1 (the head of the page)

If you look at this link: the travel link on CNN
    Page Title: Travel
Title tag: Travel news, guides & tips – Plan a vacation weekend or getaway CNN.com
    Heading: Top Travel Stories

I hope that this is more helpful.

    Many thanks.

What theme are you using? Where did you download it from?

The theme I am using is from the WordPress.org Themes collection (free).

This theme is called Dogs Life

Some minor edits have been done to the theme (there is no dog tag on the collar or a newspaper scroll on the sidebar. However even before those changes were made I was having the same problem as mentioned before.

    Thanks.
