• Hello.

I was wondering if there is a way to bridge WordPress 2.x and eFiction 3.x together? What I mean is, I use wordpress for all my news and other little bits of writing that isn’t (fan)fiction related but I also use efiction for all my (fan)fiction related stuff.

The problem is, the news system in efiction doesn’t have categories or link to certain news articles…like permalink. Which I really like, so I use wordpress…

Now, efiction relies on .tpl files to read its hard coded .php files, so the site can have its layout changed by a member or a visitor and wordpress’ layout is changed by the admin in the admin area.

Also, efiction has {hard}{code}{links}{like}{this} for some menus and uses blocks for the story categories and displaying stories etc.

So, my question is…how can I get these to work together?

I thought about having the pages section as links to efiction, but that means the login area for efiction members won’t be able to go on the index or have the news just read to efiction’s index, but then either way, the layout to be completely skinnable.

Then I thought I could just tinker with wordpress to make it read the .tpl files but I’m getting way over my head there…

Some sort of bridge or integration would be nice though

I too would be intrested in seeing a way to bridge or share user databases (at certain levels of users) to get these two to work together. I just can’t get wordpress to work like I want to be able have a menu system for a lot of stories with various authors without killing my nav or making my nav menu super long.
