• Have been trying to install Widget Sidebar script for a few hours now, without success. I believe I saw some doc that said the Kubrick theme was Widget ready, but now the installation does happen for WP Classic, which I do not use, but not Kubrick. Anybody have similar experience? Am surprised at, apparently, how minimal the documentation is on this.

  • I don’t use the Classic theme, either, and I’m surprised that it’s widget-capable, and Kubrick isn’t. I didn’t see your post, but just added my own “complaint” about Kubrick not accommodating widgets.

for that matter, what makes a theme widget-ready anyway – is there a piece of code any of us can add into Kubrick to make it work with widgets???

Any theme can be widgetized. And the widgets plugin comes with widgetized versions of both the “default” and “classic” themes.

    Thank you, Otto42 – that’s hugely helpful!

ps. i didn’t mean to start a new post on an already opened topic – i found this post after i submitted the post i wrote – silly me, i looked for this answer under “themes” not under “widgets”…

Yes thanks Otto42 for your reply and thanks Cruth for your original question! I’ve just moved my WordPress.com site to BlueHost server and was a bit disappointed at the fact that the sidebar (Rubric 1.0) reverted to the theme’s default and that there wasn’t a way for me to customize the side bar the good ol’ drag and drop way! Now here is something that I really need to put in the side bar area.

I’ve copied the script and am trying to figure out on the “code” few of things where I am to put it: presentation, edit theme, choose something at the right and then find a particular clue in the poetic code and then past…

Thanks for all the clues, Otto42. I’ll follow the links and see how much I can learn ad DO.
