• Have there been any plugins developed like the People parser developed for b2? Yes, I’ve searched all 47 pages of plugins, no I haven’t found anything. And also thanks, but no, I don’t want the acronym hack that just puts links to names. I want the popup people describer. Has one been written yet?

  • You’re in luck. I just started coding something like this for my journals a few days ago. I haven’t had time to finish because I’ve been taking advantage of tax free weekend. 😉

I call it wp-people. I started it from the same b2 thread that you pointed to.

I had it working great in the my-hacks file. It still works about 90% in the new version as a plug-in. Also, you have to modify the menu file to add a link to the admin screen. I’ll try to get those additional instructions in there soon.
Also, there is another guy who is going to take my idea and expand it onto the profiles page. So, a person can update their profile with the extra wp-people fields so tha tthe will have a bio.

Thank you, I do appreciate your responses. I’ll wait to see if there is a 100% working plugin, as those are the best, in my opinion. 🙂 Looking forward to it, codergurl.

*bump* has anyone developed it yet?

Okay. A little goofing around at work today.
Bad for the boss, good for you. I pretty much finished the plug-in.
I’m pretty happy with it. But, I need some people to test it out.

Check out my forum to download the latest version of WP-People.
