  • Not sure why you wouldn’t DROP all the tables.

If you’ve got backups of your 2.0.7 tables then can’t see why a DROP on wp_options would cause problems.

Here’s the 2.0.7 archive just in case:

The above noted articles advise to drop the tables. In reality, you say that I am not restoring a WP database, but merely downgrading WP 2.1 to 2.0.7, so removing the 2.1 WP installation should be sufficient?

Assuming you have backups (database and files) from 2.0.7 (before you did the 2.1 upgrade)
    1. DROP the 2.1 tables
    2. Delete the WordPress 2.1 files
    3. Restore the 2.0.7 WordPress files
    4. Restore the 2.0.7 database

Yes, I have backup that preceded 2.1, but how can I determine if I have backup of the tables and/or database?

    Thanks for your support.

Could I just delete WP 2.1, and restore 2.0.7?

Do you have a backup of your 2.0.7 database?

No. You need to restore your database to a point before you installed 2.1.

If you did not backup your database, well, that’s a shame.

Before migrating to WP 2.1, from 2.0.7, under my Admin cPanel/Backups section, I have downloaded the following MySQL Database Backup:
    wrdp1 ( http://www.patrimoineacadien.com ) and
wrdp2 ( http://www.yvondurelle.com ). Plus, I have generated and downloaded a MySQL Database backup using wp-db-backup plugin of the above databases. In addition, I have generated a full backup A-Z from the same cPanel: a downloaded version and another copy left on server (ImHosted.com advise full backup restoration performed by their support team). I need to revert both WP web sites.

Apologize replying now; reason just came back from work shift. Thanks for your support. You don’t have a clue how much how your help is appreciative… believe me.

    1. DROP the 2.1 tables

I know how to drop these tables via phpMyAdmin.

    2. Delete the WordPress 2.1 files

    Ok.

    3. Restore the 2.0.7 WordPress files

    Ok.

    4. Restore the 2.0.7 database

Within my cPanel MySQL Account Maintenance, do I need to delete wrdp1 and wrdp2 databases and users privileges?

On Monday February 12 2007, a Canadian National newspaper http://www.theglobeandmail.com/ is publishing an article on my hero, see my web site on this Canadian boxer http://www.yvondurelle.com . This said, since migrating to WP 2.1 from 2.0.7, my Audio Player and Xinha4WP plugins are no longer working.

I wish to revert back to WP 2.0.7 by Sunday or at least Monday for my new visitors, but I am not 100% sure how to proceed. Refer to my previous two replies/posts in this topic. I want visitors to be able to listen to my audio clips via Audio Player.

Within my cPanel MySQL Account Maintenance, do I need to delete wrdp1 and wrdp2 databases and users privileges?

No. You just need to restore the 2.0.x database backup.

I notice that my backup dump WP 2.0.7 contains elements of plugins that have been deleted since my migration to 2.1. For example, I read in this dump data from the «Adhesive» plugin, would this interfere with my database restoration?
