What kind of redirect does this plugin use?

    Yes, it always uses 301 redirects.

    Yep. They are 301’s for that exact reason.

    Well, I know this is not a SEO plugin, but it would be nice to be able to set the canonical attribute or so.

    I’m one of those who likes to rank for the http version of a page, since SSL may be removed in the long term, while http always stays.
