New Widget: Shire Reckoning

Two years ago I wrote a plug-in, Shire Reckoning, to output dates according to the calendar used by the Hobbits in Tolkien’s <i>Lord of the Rings</i>.

I was asked if it would ever be available as a Widget.

Now it is. 🙂

Download the zip file, and upload the extracted .php file to your widgets directory. Activate, drag the Shire Reckoning widget to your sidebar, and you too can have a little note about what today’s date is according to the Hobbit calendar. And when something noteworthy happened on this day in Middle-Earth history, you’ll have that, too. 🙂
