Disabling blogging features (comments etc.)

    I am mainly using wordpress to create a forum along with some info pages. I dont really need the blogging features. Does anyone know how to turn them off?

    Have you looked in the Settings->Discussion menu?

    Yes this is totally possible. But depending on what you are using and what is turned on, the features you need to disable may vary.
    Which theme are you using?
    You can create a static home page, and create new pages based on templates that don’t contain posts. For the default theme Twentyeleven, it means to not use the showcase template.

    Each post/page has an option to turn on/off comments, trackbacks, pingbacks. If you don’t see it, go to the post/page > screen options and check Discussion.
