    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

Can I switch back to my preferred theme after? And how to I switch to the 20/11 theme within my ftp?

I reset the plugins folder according to the link provided but I still can’t login to my admin.

So I delete everything from my FTP, except wp-content folder, and upload from my backup? Why? My backup that I would upload is the same as what’s already there.

Can I switch back to my preferred theme after?

Not unless you want the problem to re-occur (assumming the theme is responsible).

And how to I switch to the 20/11 theme within my ftp?

Please see the instructions I posted above.

Try resetting the plugin’s folder by Phpmyadmin.

No. Please re-read my post above.

OK – Well I don’t understand what you want me to do. I just want to make sure I screw this up even more especially because I’m not clear as to why, all of a sudden, the blog is not working and I can’t login to my admin. Before I do any of these things I want to be clear – I download WordPress, then upload that download to my FTP, then upload my files – but not the wp-content folder? What do I do with the current wp-content folder?

Should I look for support from the company that makes the theme I have? I have a custom theme and do want to keep the blog looking the same.

So I just put “old” on the theme folder that I currently have and that’s it? It will automatically pick up the 20/11 theme?

Re-upload all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones. Only delete files & folder than you are going to upload new copies of.

What do I do with the current wp-content folder?

Nothing. Leave it alone for now other than renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes.

Yes. Renaming wp-content/themes/my-theme to wp-content/themes/my-theme-old will automatically trigger the activation of the default Twenty Eleven theme.

If you use GoDaddy hosting, they are having a problem.

    Thanks for the advice, guys!
I’m doing a little more research before taking steps. According to my web hosting company, I was hacked….so I’m waiting for them to check on that side of things.
