• I spent many sleepless nights wondering if I should plug my blog here. Then, after much thought and unhurried deliberation, I came to the conclusion that I should! 😛
    I am a shameless narcissist anyway! 😉
So here is my blog… after having made the welcome transition from Blogger to WordPress… http://www.opti-mystic.net/blog
    Opinions welcome.

  • Well everybody else does so you may as well. People genuinely welcome seeing what folks are doing on their blogs. Upgrades and redesigns are often announced. Any excuse but why not?. That is *strut your stuff is all about*
    Welcome to WP.

Cool. Valid (X)HTML/CSS. The only thing I noticed after a very cursory look, and only in FF(nightly) at 800 x 600, is that p credit does not clear.

Oh. and personally, I think text links rather than W3C buttons might look better on your site…

Yes, I think so too. Actually, I just managed to iron out the problems that were getting in the way of XHTML and CSS validations, last night and simply copied the standard links (with the images) in index.php. The colours of the link buttons goes against the general colour scheme of the blog. So, yes, I agree with you that text links would be best. Thanks for the feedback. 🙂
btw, what does not look clear?

This line *does not clear* the floats:
This page was served in just 0.349 seconds. That was possible because this blog is proudly powered by WordPress

Well willnea as we know *rolls eyes* that credits won’t clear. Ever. Not like that.

Okay. Opera and IE get it the way you intended. FF renders the menu overlapping, and extending below p credit.

Hmm… got what you’re trying to convey, willnea. But I’m stuck without FF on my laptop (its a company laptop and am not supposed to load FF). So there’s little I can do right now 🙁

FF is not necessary. What can really help is a good knowledge of what the code does whether you have the browser fitted or not but admittedly that can take a bit of time to acquire. I can not tell you how sad it makes me to see the huge numbers of WP users in your position.

optimystic, give me a couple of hours– perhaps I can get humpty dumpty back together again.

Here you go. Beautiful it ain’t, but most of the hooks are in place. You’ll need a gif image the same width as the menu for it to look right.
    Quick test tested 800 x 600 on XP_ie6.0, Opera7.5.1, and FF( nightly).

woah!! … that is awesome willnea!!
I shall give it a go once I’m back home today evening.
    Thanks a ton!! 🙂

Well willnea once we see 1px dotted fuschia we know the artists have arrived 🙂
All that tabbing in the CSS is very difficult for linux folks but otherwise it looks fab.

“All that tabbing in the CSS is very difficult for linux folks…”
    Explain, por favor.

Optimystic, a less confusing version (I hope) .
