  • I pasted in the code for the RSS subscription into my right hand sidebar, but it doesn’t show up on the blog page. When checking the code that I just pasted in it is not there anymore either. I would think that after I pasted it in that I should have to save it, but I can’t see where to save it.

  • Where did you paste it in at? If you used Theme Editor, there’s a button in the bottom right hand corner that says Update File.

I went to Presentation and then to Theme Editor and then to sidebar.php. There is nothing written in the right hand corner.

I think I have discovered – at least partly – why I don’t see the button “Update File” on the Editing sidepar.php (in Theme Editor)in the bottom right hand corner. However the button is in that location when I go into my other two blogs (thehairtalkblog and easy-formal-hairstyles-updos.com/blog and go to “Theme Editor”)) – but I do not get it with the dorismollerhairstyling.com/blog because the page that I get – in the Theme Editor – has the title “Browsing” sidebar.php and there is no “Update File” button on that page. I have tried many times I simply do not get the page with the title “Editing” sidebar.php when I am in dorismollerhairstyling.com/blog. It’s always “Browsing” instead of “Editing” that shows up.

This is why I am unable to update a file. Would you know how that problem can be solved.

The last I looked, it would be because of file permissions on a Linux host. I usually go to the theme directory via FTP and 777 everything in there.

Thank you. Could you please be more specific. (Your dealing with a beginner). 1. “File permission” – what would I have to change on my Linux host in file permission. 2. By “Theme directory” do you mean my “blog” and 3. What is 777.
