Hi I want to use Coffee2code’s category image plugin but I remember recently being told that the syntax is unlikely to work for future versions of WP. Does anyone know of any more “up to date” versions of this plugin as I really want to use it in my latest theme!

  • Could you remember in a little more detail? Looking over the plugin on Scott’s site, I don’t see anything in it that would keep it from working with “future versions” of WordPress. At least, nothing in it seems to conflict with 2.1.

All I know was that someone mentioned that another plugin used “older” syntax. If you think it will work ok then I will go ahead and use it :o)

Yes, plugins using the older table variables ($tableposts, $tablecomments, etc.) instead of properties of the $wpdb class ($wpdb->posts, $wpdb->comments) will hit a wall, as these variables will be dropped from WordPress 2.1. But Category Image(s) performs no database queries of its own, so all’s good here. :)

Ok thanks Kafkaesqui, I’ll make this thread “resolved” :o)
