• I’m moving hosts, and have the vanilla WP install done, and the 1-click backup/restore program from Laughing Lizard properly installed. I get a message that the restore was successful, but I still only have the default vanilla install on my front page. (phpMyAdmin seems impossible to use on my old hosting company’s server… one of many reasons I’m leaving it)
    help!

  • Try using phpmyadmin to import the .sql file that you should have from your previous host.
    There are some instructions here:

If you get any errors, post back. There are ways around this, but we’ll need to know the sql file size.

The back up app is for backing up your data. Presumably you havent posted anything yet anyway :). The default vanilla is up to you to change. You need to start in on the CSS in wp-layout.css. Its one of our favourite subjects so do not be afraid to post if you get stuck. Search the forum first for links to get you going. Welcome to WP.
