  • I am working on a new social media marketing site.
The site can be seen here: buddyteets.
It is supposed to be a site where bloggers and webmasters can create hubs where the comine their RSS feeds and share it in social media sites like FB,Twitter,Linkedin, and so on.
The community on buddytweets is based on the mingle WP plugin, and is lightweight.
The site is under development, and the vido on the frontpage is just a placeholder untill I crete mt own info video.

I would like to have feed back on how the design look, if the text looks ok, and if ther is anything I could do to make people use the service..

Using the service is relativly easy, but its not straight forward, since It requires 2 external services to create feeds and syndicate.

The purpose of buddytweets is just to connect and advertise the different hubs, the sydication will be done using othe services..

  • Do you see that smile from jetpack at the bottom?
    It doesn’t look cool – I’ll tell you 🙂

Nice choice of colors for most of it, layout is good.

    Few things I noticed.

    • Text is a bit hard to read on the page you linked, line height is off or something, it’s centered while the video is off to the left.
    • Content is pulled up too close to the blue header area, i hardly even noticed the “Social media marketing” above the video.
    • Menu area should be lowered a bit, it’s covering the logo text when items are hovered over, and would just look better if it was lowered.
    • Menu hover effect doesn’t really match the site
    • Logo image could also be lowered, it’s almost flush with the top of the browser
    • Add some a:hover effects to links in the footer, possibly other areas
    • Footer could be cleaned up a bit, the brown block isn’t doing much for it (the jetpack smile is minor and can be turned off in settings)
    • Buttons (EX: signup now) don’t match, font is too small on the button and blue color is off
    • Forum headers and font do not match the site, forum headers might look good as the color you used in the blue header area.

Sounds like alot but it’s not really, don’t think I’m picking the design apart, just letting you know what I noticed.

It was the mobile option in jetpack that put the smiley and textline. I am not a big fan of mobile versions, so I think I will drop it anyway. The site shows up ok in mobile phones without the mobile theme..

Thanks for taking time to look at the design.
I have not had the time to optimize the look of the page, so your imput is of great value for me.
-Yes, the text has a bit low vertical air spacing. I am trying a left aligned text now, but I am not sure I like it better. I am also thinking of having a black background on the video and signup area, and if I have a block in different color there the centered text might look better( since it is centered under the black” video/signup” block)

-I have the same text in the header tag line, so I think its better to just drop the text over the video..

-I have moved the menu 5px down, increased the header area 20px vertical, and made 10px top margin. I think it looks better now..

    – Will think about the hovering, but usually hovering is not necessary..
    – I turned of the smiley, and there will be more contnent in the footer later.
    – Yes, I have to optimize the button in PS.
    – I have not started on the forum layout/design yet. I think I will hide the forum until I have enogh members to get some activity..

I have also included I twitconnect login, so its possible to try the member functions for you..
