1.5.9 Broke functionality with emails generated from other plugins
-
Hi, appears the update to 1.5.9 has lost the ability to work with emails generated from other plugins. Specifically for us, it is not using our custom template for any emails generated from MemberPress. It does still use the custom template for emails generated directly from core WordPress (password change, etc.).
Rolling back to 1.5.7 resolves the issue and all the MemberPress emails use the custom template again.
This seems related to https://wordpress.org/support/topic/bug-455/ but I don’t see a similar opportunity to “disable sending via HTML” in MemberPress, as they’ve suggested is a solution with Contact Form 7.

Hi @evanltd,
Thanks for reporting this and for the detailed explanation.
Our team is currently investigating the issue in version 1.5.9 related to email compatibility with third-party plugins like MemberPress. Core WordPress emails working correctly and the rollback to 1.5.7 resolving the issue is helpful information.
We’ll update this thread once we have more details or a fix.
Thanks & regards,
WPExperts Support TeamHi @evanltd,

Hello,
I have exactly the same problem, specifically with the Profil Builder Pro plugin. All emails sent via Profil Builder Pro are devoid of any Email Template customization.
I upgraded from version 1.5.4 to version 1.5.11 and encountered the bug…
Hi @ulrichgenisson,
Thank you for reaching out.
We understand that after upgrading from version 1.5.4 to 1.5.11, the emails sent via Profile Builder Pro are no longer using the Email Template customization.
To better understand the issue, could you please:
- Share a screenshot or short screencast showing the problem
- Confirm which email template settings you have configured
- Let us know if this happens with all emails or specific ones
Also, please open a separate support thread for your issue. This will help us track it properly and avoid any confusion with other reports.
Once we have these details, we’ll investigate further.
Regards,
WPExperts Support TeamHello.
I use the WP Mail SMTP plugin to send all emails from the website. I therefore have a detailed log of all emails sent.
All emails sent from the website work with your plugin, except for emails sent via Profil Builder Pro.
In practice, it’s as if your plugin isn’t installed. It’s ignored.
Hi @ulrichgenisson,
Thank you for your insignt.
Our team is trying to replicate the issue on our site. We will update you once we hear back from them.
Also, please open a separate support thread for your issue. This will help us track it properly and avoid any confusion with other reports.
Thank you
Hi @ulrichgenisson,
We have tested the latest email template plugin with the free version of Profile Builder. It is functioning correctly; however, as previously reported, there is an issue that requires investigation to determine the root cause.
Kindly contact us through our official channels or submit an official support ticket so we can connect with you directly through our internal team and resolve your issue promptly.
For the reader: We will update this resolution once we have resolved the customer issue and identified the root cause.
Thank you
Hello,
I can confirm that reverting to version 1.5.4 of Email Template resolved the issue with version 1.5.11 and Profil Builder. You therefore have a compatibility problem between Profil Builder Pro and Email Template 1.5.11.
Let me summarize the situation one last time. Email Template 1.5.4 works perfectly with Profil Builder Pro. However, your version 1.5.11 does not. Reverting to version 1.5.4 provides the solution. I suggest you contact Profil Builder Pro support to run some tests (I’ve sent you their email address several times). Until the problem is resolved, I’ll stick with version 1.5.4.
Hi @ulrichgenisson,
Thank you for your detailed explanation and for sharing your findings.
From what you described, it appears the issue is related to the interaction between our plugin and Profile Builder Pro. Since the emails generated by that plugin follow their own email handling process, it makes it difficult for us to fully identify the root cause without additional technical details or cooperation from their side.
We previously requested some details to help us investigate further, but unfortunately we were not able to gather enough information to properly reproduce and debug the issue. At the moment, it seems that the behavior depends on how Profile Builder Pro triggers and formats its emails.
To properly resolve this, we would likely need either additional debugging information from your side or collaboration with the Profile Builder Pro team so we can better understand how their emails are being generated.
For now, continuing with version 1.5.4 as a temporary workaround is understandable. If you are able to share more technical details, logs, or if the other plugin’s team can assist with their email implementation, we would be happy to investigate this further and work toward a compatibility fix.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.
Thank you
Hello,
I understand perfectly. However, I have already provided you—twice via email—with the email address for Profil Builder support. They have been notified and have been awaiting your email for two weeks now.
Regarding the debug mode logs: to obtain those, I would need to reinstall version 1.5.11—which is currently non-functional—on a live production site. This is something I will not do, as it would compromise my customers’ experience, as I am sure you will understand.
Hi @ulrichgenisson,
Thank you for your patience and for sharing the support contact earlier.
Our team is currently in contact with the Profile Builder Pro team to investigate the compatibility issue between their plugin and the Email Templates plugin. We are working together to better understand the root cause.
We will update this thread as soon as we have more information or once the issue has been resolved.
Thank you for your cooperation.
Thank you
