Support » Plugin: OoohBoi Steroids for Elementor » 1.4.3 breaks slideshow in elementor

The latest update broke the linked site (it’s currently working as I rolled back the plugin to 1.4.1). The slideshow at the top of the page (elementor background slideshow) was just grey, no images were showing.

It was generating errors in the console that I wasn’t smart enough to save before rolling back the plugin.

It was broken in both Chrome and Safari (but not when logged into the site). I thought it was caching but removing all the caching didn’t fix it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I can confirm it’s related to jQuery migrate – we remove this via WP Rocket routinely. Turning it on again fixes the issue.

It would be great if could build in basic support for the browser checking feature to not load unless jQuery migrate is found – that would stop the error from effecting sites, as having jQuery migrate dequeued is a common performance technique.

Thanks for the feedback! jQuery Migrate is enqueued with WordPress with the reason. If you decide to remove it – you take the risk. There’s no real evidence that jQuery Migrate slows down your website significantly, and if there is, it’s measured in microseconds (only 1 http request less initially). It’s a good idea to read about the latest jQuery Migrate too: https://jquery.com/upgrade-guide/3.0/#jquery-migrate-plugin
